European professional rugby club | Heineken Champions Club welcomes international squad back

Several Heineken Champions League clubs see international players return for the penultimate round of domestic competition before the season kicks off.

Friday’s Gallagher Premier League clash between Harlequins and Gloucester Rugby will take place in an all-Heineken Champions Cup clash at Namstope, Twickenham.

Wales winger Luis Rees-Zammit and Scotland center Chris Harris return to Gloucester to start the XV, with Argentine duo Santiago Carreras and Matias Alemano front and lock respectively Location.

Props Vallapava Ruskin and Ben Morgan also played for the visitors after their 27-21 win over the Newcastle Falcons two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Quinns welcomes back Italy center Tommy Allen and South Africa center Andrea Esterhuissen.

Friday’s other Premier League game sees 2020 Heineken Champions Cup winners Exeter Chiefs travel to EPCR Challenge Cup side Newcastle.

Wales’ Christ Tshiunza returned to Exeter at flank, while captain Jack Yeandle returned at Hooker and Ian Whitten was recalled as a centre-forward for his 200th club appearance.

The dhl Storm are the other team involved in the Heineken Champions Cup on Friday, as they host the Scarlets in the Rugby Union Championship.

With a portion of Cape Town’s players still linked to South Africa, the first game of the season will feature full-back Marcel Tenison, half-back Cade Walhut and centre-forward Cornell Smit .

Lock Gary Porter made his dhl Stormers debut and props Ali Vermaak was also called up.
